Privacy Policy
Effective July 22, 2026 · Applies to the Voicley apps for Android, Windows, and web
The short version: your recordings and notes are yours. We store
them so they sync between your devices, we send audio and text to
transcription services to turn your voice into text, and that's it — no
ads, no analytics trackers, no selling data.
What Voicley collects
- Account: the email address you sign in with, and an account id.
- Your content: voice recordings, their transcripts, and how you
organize them (notes, tasks, folders, comments). This is content you
create on purpose — Voicley's whole job is keeping it safe.
Where it lives
- On your devices, and in Voicley's cloud database and storage
(hosted on Supabase) so your library syncs across your devices.
Data is encrypted in transit.
Processing partners
To turn speech into text, Voicley sends audio (and short text excerpts)
to transcription providers, solely to process it for you:
- Deepgram — live, as-you-speak transcription.
- OpenAI — recorded-audio transcription (Whisper) and short
AI-generated titles/topics for your items.
- Microsoft OneNote — only if you connect your own Microsoft
account; your dictation is then written into your own notebook.
These providers process data to deliver the feature — Voicley does not
share your content with anyone for advertising.
What Voicley does NOT do
- No advertising SDKs, no third-party analytics trackers.
- No selling or renting your data. Ever.
Deleting your data
- Delete any item in the app (Trash, then purge — or Empty Trash).
- For full account deletion, email us and we'll remove your account
and stored content.
Permissions the app asks for
- Microphone (and a foreground-service notification on Android)
— recording is the product; the mic is only live while a red recording
indicator is showing.
- Notifications — recording status and playback controls.
